By Jocelyn Lopez As most of you know, the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has been busy at making many sequels and firsts of movies this year. Recently on September 18, 2018, the trailer for Captain Marvel has been released. The MCU, however has taken the liberty to 2012’s Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) into a cinematic
masterpiece. For those who don’t know who Captain Marvel is, Captain Marvel’s first debut was as a man! Yes, his name was Mar-vell and he was the alien military officer from then on, many more different versions started coming out. Like a police lieutenant from New Orleans who possesses the power to transform into any form of energy named Monica Rambeau. “I love how Marvel—after many years—finally addresses Captain Marvel herself,” says sophomore, Charlie Sar. Captain Marvel, like many characters in the franchise go unrecognized or not remembered as well. Sure, more characters deserve to be addressed and thoroughly known but for the CInematic Universe, this is a step to something big. Marvel beings a new stage in female lead movie and they are starting with an icon. Marvel being quite busy with Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and future productions leaves fans wondering how well the movie will do. Infinity war left dedicated fans with broken hearts and tears leaving the theater, Ant-Man and the Wasp gave them hope but left them wondering what happened to Scott. What does Marvel have in store for fans now? Fan theories assume that she will come for Thanos (the Titan who brought tragedy upon the beloved Avengers), but taken from the trailer it seems that Carol Danvers will be getting her very own movie.
