By Kelly Tang During the past few weeks, a few fights have occurred between the freshmen at the school. Many take no heed nor interest to the alleged fights but at the same time many people gather around and even take out their phones to record each and every second that is going down in history.
The fights have surfaced on the internet with students posting video caps of the scene, some are even edited to be memes. Unfortunately, no student actually tries to stop this behavior. These videos tend to draw out and gain a lot of attention which the freshmen consider to be a worthy investment. Some say that the freshman mainly fight for attention, "Freshmen try to one-up each other and try to prove themselves when no one actually cares." According to other students, freshmen seem to want to prove their self-worth about themselves to others by making a statement. However in doing so, the upperclassmen actually find this behavior irritable and have developed a slight dislike towards the freshmen, calling them annoying and reckless. The fights have rarely been fought between boys, instead most of the fights seem to be fought by girls on both sides. These few fights have also occurred uniquely among freshmen, leading many students to believe that the whole grade is full of childish individuals who spar with each other for no particular reason. "It is hard to understand why they fight. You have to be the one fighting to know." says a student sharing his opinion, "They mostly fight over stupid things like someone trying to steal their man." Many find the fights to be quite comedic, stating that the fights between girls generally consists of pulling the other’s hair or hitting at the air all around them, missing their target, in order to feign successful hits.
